Or how to assemble an energy-saving heating system heating

When it comes time to design and build a heating system for a building, be it a cottage, an apartment, a commercial building or even an apartment building, you are faced with the task of choosing a boiler, which is often a rather difficult task with all the variety of heating equipment on the market.

Here, of course, various marketing mechanisms are included by manufacturers and sellers of heating equipment, which are aimed at attracting buyers to their products.

The purpose of this article is to help the buyer make a choice when buying equipment in order to get an energy-efficient heating system at a lower cost.

We will not focus on choosing the type of boiler (gas, electric, solid fuel), nor will we dwell on various fuel combustion technologies in boilers. We will, ceteris paribus, assume that we received a coolant heated to the required temperature at the outlet of the boiler, and now we need to use this coolant for our tasks, as a rule, this is heating and hot water supply.

The first thing you should pay attention to is the number of different heated rooms, their types, orientation to the cardinal points, insolation, functional purpose, thermal insulation of structural elements and others factors that determine the requirements for maintaining the temperature regime in these rooms.

Second, on the number of hot water consumers, their location and distance from the boiler.

Ну и наконец, что при нынешних ценах на энергоносители, является очень актуальным, хотите ли Вы иметь простое и понятное управление_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ operation of its climate system without the involvement of additional technical personnel in order to obtain comfortable climatic conditions and, at the same time, reduce energy costs.

Just about complex

A few simple tips to help you choose a boiler

For ease of comparison, we will assume that we are talking about gas boilers.

Variant 1. If you have a 1..3-room apartment heated with radiators, with 2-3 hot water consumers, then ANY  double-circuit boiler will suit you, which will make it possible to separately regulate the temperature of the heating circuit and the circuit hot water supply. Further, the choice is yours, these are the preferred brands, the types of gas combustion method used, and of course the money you want to spend on the boiler.

Variant  2. If you  cottage with a large number of different rooms, various heating devices (radiators, underfloor heating, convectors, etc.), as well as a large number of hot water consumption points, then you will need a boiler with an automation system (controller ) which will allow the heat generated by it to be properly distributed.

Variant  3. If you have a large residential or commercial building, then in addition to the boiler, you will need a well-designed heat distribution system (heat point, sometimes even several), which will distribute the generated heat to consumers.

So how do you make a choice?

At first glance, it may seem that it is better to choose a "smart" boiler with the greatest functionality built into it. And here, manufacturers of boilers will race to offer boilers equipped with controllers that allow you to connect 2, 3 and even 4 heating circuits with separate regulation for them.
I want to note right away that this will still be a maximum of 4 typical heating system schemes, which will not always fit the tasks specific to your building. This is about if you came to a clothing store and you were offered only 4 identical types of suits, even if they were made by different couturiers.
The desire of boiler manufacturers can be easily understood, earn extra money by selling "brains" to boilers, but you will have to adjust your heating system to one of these standard solutions, while solidly overpaying for these very "brains"!

If, nevertheless, your option is No. 2 or No. 3, then it is definitely recommended to implement a heat distribution system on a separate controller, and again, manufacturers will offer you standard controllers, to solve  again typical heat distribution schemes.
Our recommendation is to use freely programmable controllers for this purpose!
